Nanking

Nanking Restaurant is a Pan-Asian Fusion restaurant located in North New Hyde Park, New York. The menu features Chinese, Thai and Indian dishes. This restaurant has been a favorite of our family for some time now. Alex’s 1st Birthday celebration was held here. The restaurant has a modern dining room and is very clean. There are several dishes that we almost always order but we usually try a new one each time. We order some of the dishes to be made spicy. Everything is prepared fresh with lots of herbs and spices. No “kid bias” here and the staff is friendly. We highly recommend this restaurant. They also have other locations in Melville, Rockaway and New Jersey so check the out. See what we ate:

Samosa Chaat – mildly spiced potatoes, peas, cashew nuts and raisins stuffed in a light pastry, deep fried and topped with chana masala (chickpeas). This is absolutely delicious!!!
Hot and Sour Soup – spicy! Alex loves this.
Coriander Garlic Chicken – wok fried chicken with onions and green peppers in a garlic and coriander sauce. This was ordered medium spicy and it’s a dish we always order.
Pad Thai Noodles – flat rice noodles with vegetables, tofu, chicken and bean sprouts. We ordered this one without peanuts.
Chicken in Black Bean Sauce – stir fried chicken with green peppers and onions in a mildly spiced black bean sauce
Aloo Gobi – spiced potatoes and cauliflower. This is not on the menu but they’ll make it for you if you ask. This is a favorite of ours.
Chicken Tikka Masala – boneless chicken marinated in yogurt, herbs and spices, grilled in the tandoor and simmered in a tangy sauce of light cream and fresh tomatoes. We almost always order this as well!
